L’Orange and Jeremiah Jae are back, and the pair are in a grim (read: realistic) mood.

The artists have reconvened to produce a new album, Complicate Your Life With Violence, scheduled for release October 4 via Mello Music. The record follows their acclaimed 2015 LP, The Night Took Us in Like Family.

“Dead Battery” is the first track off the upcoming full-length, and it’s a doozy: a swampy, foreboding production that flips a twangy blues guitar riff into a dirty, dark hip-hop cut with a subtle hint of Bristol beat legends Portishead.

The song arrives with a suitably film noir–styled music video featuring a brutal interrogation scene matched with muscular modern dance. Watch the clip below.
