Cardi B and Bernie Sanders make strange bedfellows—she with an immaculate weave and manicured acrylics and he with white flyaway hair and no acrylics—but hey, it’s good to get different kinds of people discussing the issues voters care about.
The pair met up and filmed a recent interview together in a Detroit nail salon, a locale that seems natural for Cardi and new for Bernie. The twelve-minute clip has the two discussing everything from healthcare, to police brutality, to crushing student debt; essentially, all the biggest things in America that need fixin.’
Last month, Cardi expressed her support for Sanders via Twitter, writing: “I’m really sad how we let him down in 2016. This man been fighting for equal rights, HUMAN rights for such a long time.” She’s not wrong.
