This Friday, September 13 marks the twenty-fifth anniversary of The Notorious B.I.G’s album Ready to Die, and a new Amazon Music mini-doc looks back at that pivotal moment in hip-hop history.

The Birth of Biggie: 25 Years of Ready to Die is a nine-minute retrospective on the rapper born Christopher Wallace and his legendary 1994 debut. Featuring first-hand commentary from people in his inner circle during those heady times—including producers Easy Mo Bee and DJ Mister Cee, Coker, and former SVP of Promotions for Arista/Bad Boy, Rob Stone—it’s the rarely seen archival audio and photos of Biggie that promises to pack the biggest punch.

“I made the record for New York, but I want the world to hear it,” he says of Ready to Die in the doc. “I want to be that one n***a that come in, present, and bow down like, ‘Thank you all,’ you know what I’m saying?”

The film is now available on Youtube. Watch it below.
