On Sunday, your favorite (and hands-down The Most Entertaining) film and television awards show, The Golden Globes (aka the one headed by a mysterious board of foreign press members that lets the celebs drink all they can during the telecast), will air on NBC, hosted by hilarious and talented lady friends Tina Fey and Amy Poehler (hosts so nice, they’ve done it thrice).

This year’s nominations reflect the very best* of the year past in television (True Detective! Transparent! …Downton Abbey?) and film (Boyhood! Ralph Fiennes! Lego Batman!). Some of the nominees are familiar sights from our own best film and television of 2014 lists, but there were also a few surprises not to mention a couple of “er…really?”s.

Let’s take a prognosticatory peek at what may or may not go down come Sunday.

Cheers!
