As far as mmeadows is concerned, perspective really is everything. The New York–based duo of Cole Kamen-Green and Kristin Slipp (her other gig is as a member of Dirty Projectors) are preaching the kind of self-care that comes when you take a couple of giant steps back from the chaos.
“While we’re obsessing over minutiae, drowning in noise, we miss the big, ugly picture,” the band explains. “If we shift our frame of reference, zoom out a bit, we invite the clarity we need to do important work—emotional, political, environmental. Objectivity can reveal to us that we’re not alone, and in that we may find a little levity, a little peace.”
Such is the setting for “A Matter of Perspective,” mmeadows’ intriguing new track that digs a little deeper into dance-floor-ready beats to unearth an organic, heartfelt moment ideal for the introspective fall season. Listen below.
