We haven’t gotten a new LP from The Mowgli’s since they parted ways with their old label after their 2017 album Where’d Your Weekend Go?, but they seem to have kept busy. Between touring, the five-piece have released a pair of EPs—not to mention theme music for a kids’ show—as band members have come and gone.

Today the group maintains this pace with the reveal of a new power-pop single to get audiences pumped for their forthcoming tour with Plain White T’s and New Politics. “Fighting With Yourself” is a raucous endeavor sounding like an over-caffeinated crossover between Grouplove and MCR. With Katie Jayne Earl stepping into the spotlight for the first time to provide lead vocals, it’s a step away from what we’ve come to expect from the band.

“‘Fighting With Yourself’ is all about taking a look in the mirror and accepting who you are,” notes guitarist/vocalist Josh Hogan. “It’s about owning the good and the bad and in-between, and moving forward.”

Stream the track below, and catch the band at the dates listed on the flyer below.
