Mac DeMarco has crashed the Iggy Pop universe. DeMarco directed Pop’s latest visual, “Sonali,” taken from the punk icon’s latest long-player, Free. In the video, DeMarco brings back the Lizard Man from his own “Nowhere Man” vid, a track off Mac’s album Here Comes the Cowboy released earlier this year.

Here, Lizard Man (this time played by musician Tommy Midnight) is getting ready for a date night with a Lizard Woman love interest, portrayed by Kiera McNally (DeMarco’s girlfriend). The surreal and brightly-colored clip sets an ironic tone for the moody, melancholy track, with Pop’s distinctive voice rolling like a fog across a stuttering rhythm. The whole thing is highlighted by a lovely horn solo performed by Lizard Man himself from a convertible parked on an LA street. Watch it below.
