Still fresh from delivering one of the best albums of 2019, Freddie Gibbs and Madlib took a clutch of songs from Bandana to the D.C. offices of NPR to light up the latest edition of the network’s Tiny Desk series.

“This Freddie Gibbs and Madlib Tiny Desk performance was a year in the making, largely because Madlib insisted on playing with El Michels Affair, a vintage funk and soul band based out of New York,” producer Abby O’Neil explained of the show. She also dubbed it “hands down, for me, the best Tiny Desk of the year,” which is exceptionally high praise from someone who produces the famous series.

Gibbs, Madlib, and El Michels Affair brought Bandana tunes “Education,” “Gat Damn,” “Soul Right,” and “Freestyle Shit” to the Desk. Watch the full performance below.
