Former presidents of the United States: they’re just like us. At least when it comes to Barack Obama, who has shared an impressive list of year-end favorites for 2019 that more than likely has plenty in common with your own.
Obama revealed his best-of-2019 lists via Twitter, breaking them up into music, film and TV, and books. See the lists below, and decide upon where you agree (or disagree) with the former Commander-in-Chief.
As we wind down 2019, I wanted to share with you my annual list of favorites that made the last year a little brighter. We’ll start with books today — movies and music coming soon. I hope you enjoy these as much as I did. pic.twitter.com/l5qTGkAPok

From hip-hop to country to The Boss, here are my songs of the year. If you’re looking for something to keep you company on a long drive or help you turn up a workout, I hope there’s a track or two in here that does the trick. pic.twitter.com/mQ2VssyDwt

Next up are my favorite movies and TV shows of 2019. Of course, there’s also American Factory, a film from our own production company, Higher Ground, that was recently shortlisted for an Oscar. Here’s the full list: pic.twitter.com/PEcgwotcxm

Responses to Obama’s choices started rolling in almost immediately, with Lizzo shedding tears over her inclusion.
I love you so much Mr. Obama.. thanks for assisting me with my morning cry 🥺🥰🤪 https://t.co/K9BV0YuGX8

Fans of Fleabag were especially delighted to see the cult show’s second season included among his TV favorites, especially considering a particular scene in the series’ first season involving Phoebe Waller-Bridge’s unexpected reaction to one of Obama’s speeches.
Obama likes Fleabag. If you watched Season 1, you know Fleabag . . . um . . . “likes” Obama. 😳 https://t.co/zTlTrXeEz4
