Well, Record Store Day is postponed, as are most—if not all—of the tours announced by RSD’s ever-expanding roster of contributing artists. It’s a pretty bleak moment for pretty much all facets of the music industry, though that’s certainly not stopping the weekly rollout of new music.
Today, long-anticipated scheduled releases finally dropped from the likes of LA rapper Chika, metalcore thrashers Code Orange, avant pop-rockers Vundabar, Flaming Lips/Deap Vally collab Deap Lips, Philly songwriter Orion Sun, and a handful of indie favs including Grouplove, Yumi Zouma, The Districts, and Peter Bjorn and John, in addition to Jay Electronica‘s thirteen-years-in-the-making debut and a surprise deluxe edition to the already-surprising release of Lil Uzi Vert’s Eternal Atake.
Along with Kurt Vile’s Nick Cave cover, Norah Jones’ Jeff Tweedy collaboration, and the return of The Psychedelic Furs, there’s plenty to get excited about this morning. Something to think about while reconsidering your newly undelegated live music budget.
