Following “Time Alone with You,” Jacob Collier’s new song “In My Bones” is the second playful single off his forthcoming Djesse Vol. 3 LP (due out later this year). It’s also his first release since winning two Grammys at the 2020 ceremony (Best Arrangement, Instrumental or A Cappella and Best Arrangement, Instrumental and Vocals).
Of the high-powered funk jam out today, Collier said in a press release, “More than ever before, this is a time for celebration of our humanity, for understanding and empathy, for our communal creative energy to elevate people’s spirits and remind us of what life is about. The world is a family, and that even during times as difficult as these it’s possible to bring joy to each other, to be loving irrespective of proximity, and to embrace the time we have to ourselves and with our loved ones to reflect, recharge and reimagine the world as we would like it to feel.”
The video is certainly a joyous celebration of sorts, featuring a collaboration between Collier and Kimbra & Tank and the Bangas, and enlisting the help of a rapping robot, dancing skeletons, and a life-size game of Operation (played by Jacob in an electric yellow suit). Watch it below.
