Artists continue finding new and inventive ways to stay in contact with their fans during coronavirus. Oakland’s Fantastic Negrito is no different, deciding to find out how folks were staying occupied and sane while sheltering in place, then turn it into art.
“Have you lost your mind yet? I asked people around the world to send me footage of how they are coping with the coronavirus…this is what came back,” the artist shared in a press statement of the new visual for his song “Chocolate Samurai.”
The clip finds his fans engaged in a wide range of activities, from the American hero seen serving on the front lines at a hospital, to people creating art, cooking, or simply enjoying nature.
“A moment of light,” Fantastic Negrito said of the video. “We may be isolated behind closed doors, but we are in this together.”
