Sophie Hawley-Weld and Tucker Halpern, the duo behind dance-pop hit makers Sofi Tukker, have been making the most during this difficult time, staying connected with fans around the world through daily live DJ sets on their Instagram and Facebook channels. As with their invigorating live performances, their live streams have taken on an array of improvisational flourishes, incorporating live samples, guitar, and vocals in the sets.
Tomorrow they have another surprise for their fans: Dancing on the People Remix EP, a seven-song project featuring fresh takes on Sofi Tukker favorites remixed by Dillon Francis, Vini Vici & Whiteno1se, Bandi, KC Lights, Rocket Pengwin, and Dux n Bass. “Fantasy,” their single from 2019, gets a propulsive new groove courtesy of dance legend Tommie Sunshine and production duo Disco Fries. “It’s an honor to have a remix from such an OG,” they tell us. “Tommie Sunshine’s a pioneer of the rave scene and we love what he did with ‘Fantasy.'”
