Tomorrow night, Apple TV is finally unveiling Spike Jonze’s live documentary film about the Beastie Boys, titled Beastie Boys Story. The flick promises an intimate account of the band’s forty years together, and was initially set to premiere earlier this month on the heels of Ill Communication’s twenty-sixth anniversary—their number one charting 1994 album. Jonze himself directed the music video for that album’s hit single “Sabotage” over twenty-five years ago.
But it gets better! After the film debuts (time to finally commit to that Apple TV+ subscription), Spike and Beasties Mike D and Ad-Rock are taking to Reddit to field questions in a good old fashioned AMA, launching at 8 p.m. PST shortly after the film’s 5 p.m. premiere. You can follow the action—and get involved in the convo—at /r/HipHopHeads.
Join Mike D, Ad-Rock and Spike Jonze for the @Reddit AMA After Party right after the early premiere of #BeastieBoysStory on Thursday at 5pm PT / 8pm ET. https://t.co/zbPq5THXTw pic.twitter.com/NGQ4fuDDaz
