Swizz Beatz and Timbaland have done it again. After bringing tens of thousands of music fans together for their most recent Verzuz online battle between Teddy Riley and Babyface, the pair have revealed the next big face-off: Erykah Badu vs. Jill Scott.
Set for May 9 at 4 p.m. PST, it will mark the first all-female face-off of the new Instagram Live series. Swizz Beatz announced the battle on social media, which in turn has resulted in collective excitement from fans of the perennial neo-soul favorites.
Badu, who just last month launched her own Quarantine Concert Series (and her own live stream company in the process), is sure to be ready for her showdown with Scott. There is, however, one neo-soul icon that she’s in no rush to face track for track: Lauryn Hill.
