Today Warner Bros. announced that it will be moving forward with plans to create a brand-new film based on the widely beloved 1962 Hanna-Barbera cartoon The Jetsons. Unlike the movies made about its sister program The Flintstones, the new Jetsons project is slated to be an animated feature written by Matt Lieberman (screenwriter for the new reboots of Short Circuit and Scooby-Doo). Presumably, the new film will more production value than the first attempt at a movie exclusively about the space-age family.
While it is true that many of the inventions featured on The Jetsons have actually been created in the five decades since its airing, watch the show’s original intro below to see how many things we’re still missing out on. Car-turned-briefcase? Hop to it, Elon Musk.
