Ms. Lauryn Hill

This Saturday, Superfly is hosting a virtual concert aiming to support Black-, minority-, and women-owned small businesses by enlisting such heavy-weights as 2 Chainz, T-Pain, Brittany Howard, Leon Bridges, Brandi Carlile, and Nathaniel Rateliff to perform at their “Small Business Live” event. Today that list grows with the reveal that Ms. Lauryn Hill, Chicano Batman, and mxmtoon will also be taking the virtual stage, and that DJ Jazzy Jeff will be emceeing the event.

“Three and a-half million small businesses are currently at risk of permanent closure due to COVID-19, with a disproportionate number of them being minority-owned,” Superfly co-founder Rich Goodstone shared back when the event was announced. “We look forward to raising the profile of this issue by showcasing amazing music performances and the stories of small businesses across America that urgently need our support.”

Proceeds from the event will be donated to the Accion Opportunity Fund, a non-profit aiding small businesses owned and operated by minorities. Viewers can donate by texting “SmallBiz” to 707070, or by making a donation here before, during, and after the stream. Find more details on Superfly’s original announcement below.
