Did you know that Twitter has a new function that allows users to send message with up to 140 seconds of audio? Liz Phair sure does, with the Gen X music icon sharing a new song utilizing the feature.
Phair shared the acoustic tune today via Twitter, and it comes with some cheeky lyrics: “Oh yeah, Twitter didn’t pay me to say this/ But I like it very much/ I like it a lot/ I think I’ll use it too much / ‘Cus I do this anyway / All through the day when I’m supposed to be working and I don’t really want to.”

Early reactions to the song have been mostly favorable, with one listener asking for a caveat when it comes to the Twitter audio function. Phair concurred.
Fine by me 🙂

The lo-fi nature of the tune gives it a bit of an Exile in Guyville feel, a welcome vibe for the legions of fans who still bow to that pioneering 1993 LP. Check it out below.
