Richard D. James, better known as Aphex Twin, has emerged from musical obscurity after thirteen years of mostly silence. The influential electronic artist has released his single “minipops 67 [120.2][source field mix]” off his upcoming album Syro. You can expect the full-length to drop on September 22.

As the title might suggest, the track sounds like it was created through an operating system’s command-line interface. It’s filled with moving beats, beeps and bloops, and other collections of synth and electronic sounds that transport you to a digitized world. Immersive and eerie, it’s everything we could have hoped for in new music from Aphex Twin.

Stop what you’re doing and press play below. This deserves all of your attention.
