In the few months that we’ve been watching artists play sets from their homes rather than a sweaty venue, the medium of live streams has developed considerably—Margo Price, for example, is no longer strumming an acoustic guitar in her attic with her partner-in-quarantine-and-music Jeremy Ivey, but instead staging an elaborate, cinematic network TV performance from her spacious backyard.

Last night the pop-country star launched into a rousing performance of “Letting Me Down” from her newly released third record That’s How Rumors Get Started for Jimmy Kimmel (well, actually Iliza Shlesinger, who sat in for Kimmel last night). With her full band very socially distanced around her enormous swimming pool, Price gave us the drama we’ve so desperately missed in our new stageless era of live music.
