The Naked and Famous have kept up a pretty consistent release schedule of a new LP every two to three years since their breakthrough debut in 2010, and the LA-by-way-of-New-Zealand electropop group have stuck to it but releasing their fourth LP, Recover, today.

Stripped to the core duo of Thom Powers and Alisa Xayalith, loss plays a critical role in the upbeat pop songs on the record. “Experiencing grief and loss from losing a parent has had an immense effect on how I live my life,” Xayalith shares of the title track specifically. “This experience sometimes weaves its way into my songwriting. Being able to release something so personal into the world makes me feel a little lighter and I hope my story can comfort somebody somewhere.”

With the album finally out today, the band is sharing a video for this track, which brings some of these themes to life. “The music video for ‘Recover’ features mixed media animation that embodies the ‘mother spirit’ in the form of a little animated ghost following me on my path,” Xayalith continues. “The heart of this song is about recovering one’s self from personal hardships, which is something both Thom and I had to endure to be here today giving you our fourth LP, Recover.”
