Back in May, the second installment of LaunchLeft’s Launched Artists Digital Single Series featured a star-gazey new single from one-man-band FUNKILLER, which preceded a full-length collection of rambling tracks entitled Tropical Depression, promised for a release later this year. A few months later, David Gordon is following up that promise with yet another taste of the LP, a considerably janglier affair recycling the lo-fi, psych-tinged visuals attached to “Divided Highway” for a Zoey Taylor–directed music video he calls a “cinematic quarantine experience.”

“Rattlesnake Freight Train” blends psychedelic rock in the vein of 13th Floor Elevators with a modern cow punk sound for a madcap trip through the psyche. “‘Rattlesnake Freight Train’ is an anecdotal track about the momentum within each of our unique head spaces,” FUNKILLER explains in his own words. “It’s about going off the rails in search of inspiration, and the struggle to regain a healthy balance lost on your own trip.”

Watch the clip below, and expect Tropical Depression out soon.
