Cult rockers theLINE were finished writing and recording their new EP Sour to Punker by the end of 2019, but, as one could imagine, felt compelled to head back into the studio for one final touch-up after the pandemic shook the world early into 2020. The result was “Harmony Do You Miss We,” a track they recorded post-COVID, and which manages to fit indecipherably among the rest of the project’s track list which includes songs the band recorded as demos in the early ’90s and which have only resurfaced in live settings.
“We wrote [‘Harmony’] this past April as COVID was wreaking havoc on the world,” the band shares of the song unveiled today. “Rooted in the spirit of ‘unity’ and the philosophy that ‘we’ is more powerful than ‘me.’ It’s retrospective, but also a dedication to our future perspectives. With all the opposing forces in the world today (especially in the U.S.) we wanted to channel this song into a rally cry for friends, family, and the human race as a whole. The key point is that we all want the same thing, really. We can disagree and have a strong personal point of view, but at the end of the day we need to respect those who have perished and let love rule.”
