Back in August, Scottish songwriter ONR (“Honor,” if you’re reading this out loud) teamed up with Nile Rodgers for the hyped-up electropop track “Kill TV,” which followed a handful of other loose singles from the artist born Robert Shields. Today we get another single—and another duet—in the form of “Must Stop,” which sees Shields paired with Phantogram’s Sarah Bartel for something a little milder.

Over a mounting, not-entirely-un-Phantogram-like beat, the duo vow not to “fall in love with every boy/girl who fucks them.” “‘Must Stop’ is a song about being repeatedly hurt,” Shields shared in a press statement. “About a lack of self-worth, a desperation to be in love and to be loved by someone, anyone—and the blows you can take when you leave yourself so open.”

“I think it was the universe telling me I have to express my feelings instead of bottling them up,” Barthel countered, noting that the song was presented to her after a particularly bad breakup. “From then on ‘Must Stop’ has been my mantra.”
