Miley Cyrus just wants to rock. The shape-shifting pop star has revealed that she’s ready to set the world on fire with a new collection of Metallica covers, as she explained while still in bed in a recent interview.

“Well, actually, I’m calling you from someone else’s bed,” she informed designer Rick Owens for a piece in Interview magazine. “There is a story behind it. We’ve been working on a Metallica cover album and I’m here working on that. We’re so lucky to be able to continue to work on our art during all of this. At first, it felt uninspiring and now I’ve been totally ignited.”

The singer went to share that she’s studied Iggy Pop’s stage movements, and that the pandemic has her open to pretty much anything, for which she blames Flaming Lips frontman Wayne Coyne.

“I have such a healthy and sexy relationship with recklessness right now. I can say yes to anything,” she revealed. “It would take something really fucking crazy for me to say no. Wayne really opened that door for me, because I was on the Bangerz tour at that time, where I was traveling the world. Your levels of fulfillment and depression are so drastic, because you’ve got that two hours where you’re fully captivated and reaching your fullest potential, and then when you come down from it, it’s so hard. Having him and having that psychedelic music changed everything for me.”

But can Miley Cyrus rock? Absolutely. She hopped onstage at the Whisky-A-Go-Go this weekend for the #SaveOurStages benefit festival, and blazed through a fiery cover The Cranberries’ “Zombie,” and the Cure’s “Boys Don’t Cry.” Watch her full set below
