Despite the fact that Matthew E. White’s music has no problem standing up on its own merit, the Americana musician insists that his first LP Big Inner was made “purely to be an advertisement for [Spacebomb],” the studio and record label that he runs in Virginia.
Safe to say, his plan worked, as Nashville-based singer/songwriter Natalie Prass made the trip to record her self-titled debut at Spacebomb, where she utilized the full-size house band to realize a musical vision featuring shades of both Mariah Carey and Harry Nilsson alike.
Today, NPR premiered the music video for “Why Don’t You Believe In Me,” a slow-rolling, fiery trip to the many faces of the newly-arrived musician. It’s trippy and pretty, just like the album.
Natalie Prass is out now via Spacebomb Records.
