2014. Grammys Announcement Twitter picture

On Sunday, the National Academy of Recording Arts and Sciences will hand out the golden gramophone to a wide range artists that produced a wide range of music from October 2013 to September 2014. There will be a lot of performances, including some pretty odd (but potentially amazing) match-ups including Tony Bennett and Lady Gaga, McKanye (plus Rihanna), Ed Sheeran and ELO (?!), and Tom Jones and Jessie J, to name just a few. Hosted by LL Cool J.

It’s a battle between Beyoncé and Sam Smith (also nominated for Best New Artist) in the major categories, with worthy nods to Beck, Sia, HAIM, St. Vincent, Ryan Adams, Aphex Twin, Jack White, and Awesome Mix Vol. 1 thrown in.

They may not all be familiar (or our favorites), but it’s Music’s Biggest Night, and we couldn’t help but weigh in.
