It’s been a little over a year since Victoria Monét dropped her project Jaguar (which is really great, if you weren’t aware). Since then, she’s released a new track, started a family, and now finds herself daydreaming about touring (aren’t we all?). In a tweet she fantasized about opening for the new power duo Silk Sonic, the collaboration between Anderson .Paak and Bruno Mars. Today, she shares her audition tape—a live performance of her last album’s title track.
In the video, she shares the stage with a couple backup singers and a brass band, all donning glittering emerald-colored attire. A giant full moon backs Monét as she struts and belts “Jaguar,” embodying the powerful, seductive animal the song takes its name from. She’s truly glowing in the performance…maybe because she was five months pregnant at the time of filming?? Seriously, she never ceases to inspire.
