New dance music is as life-giving as the sun staying out for extra hours. Today, we get some sonic sunshine with TOKiMONSTA‘s remix of Nigerian-Beninese singer Ayra Starr‘s “lja.” Off the forthcoming DANCE (RED) SAVES LIVES, a compilation curated by Don Jazzy and Aluna, TOKiMONSTA adds volume to the bass of the original with some funky, romantic twists.

(RED) and Mavin Records have teamed up for the Afro-beats inspired comp that connects various producers and musicians including: Becky G, Burssbrain, Felix Da Housecat, GuiltyBeatz, LILO, Michael Brun, Moody Jones, RDD, Rema, Simi, Sofi Tukker, Tiwa Savage, UNIIQU3, and Virgil Abloh. The album’s proceeds will go toward efforts to mitigate the impact of COVID-19 on life-saving HIV/AIDS programs in sub-Saharan Africa. “COVID-19 could cause AIDS-related deaths to double in the coming year as health and community systems are overwhelmed, treatment and prevention programs are disrupted, and resources are diverted throughout sub-Saharan Africa,” notes the press release for the track.
