With their latest single “The Men Who Rule the World,” Garbage obliterate white patriarchy, capitalistic greed, and environmental abuse in under five minutes. The new track comes with the announcement of their next album No Gods No Masters, the follow-up to 2016’s Strange Little Birds.

In a press statement, Shirley Manson revealed how numerology had an impact on the new full-length:  “This is our seventh record, the significant numerology of which affected the DNA of its content: the seven virtues, the seven sorrows, and the seven deadly sins.” She continued, “It was our way of trying to make sense of how fucking nuts the world is and the astounding chaos we find ourselves in. It’s the record we felt that we had to make at this time.”

If I hear one more thing about white boy summer…I’ll remember to listen to this. Check it out below and pre-order No Gods No Masters here.
