Psych-rock group La Femme just released their third album Paradigmes earlier this month, and one of the album’s highlights was the delicately sung, disco-inspired synthpop track “Nouvelle-Orléans.” Today, we’re sharing the vibrant music video for “Nouvelle-Orléans” in which La Femme hosts an endless dance contest that can only have one winner. (We’ll all be the winner once the world opens up and we can safely enter crammed, dimly lit nightclubs.) The video was directed by La Femme and Aymeric Bergada du Cadet, and it was filmed at the Palace—a legendary club during the ’80s in Paris.
“New Orleans is a shaggy and sweaty trip down Motown lane,” the band shares. “The clip features some of Paris’ most elite dancers who battle it out La Femme style to win the title…who will win? You need to watch to find out.” The clip captures a contest, hosted by Cesar Domboy and Romain Brau, that lasts 69 hours.
The video for “Nouvelle-Orléans” precedes the group’s first full-length movie, named after their latest album, which is out next fall. It also precedes their newly announced dance contest inspired by the single, which will be revealed via live video on their Instagram. Prepare your best dance moves, and watch the clip below.
