Swedish musician and songwriter Truls Söderman Carlberg released a couple funky bedroom pop tracks last year (“Adult” and “Torn Up Dress”) under the name Love Truls. He draws inspiration from artists ranging from King Krule, to Idris Muhammad and Roy Ayers, to Tame Impala, but his latest venture has bits of Men I Trust and Belle and Sebastian. His latest single “Trembling Hands” is from his forthcoming debut EP Kantande Wanai out June 4.
The track, which features the subtle vocals of his close childhood friend Siri Gunrup Järvinen, is a jazzy ode to budding desire. “I usually like to leave my songs open to interpretation as they can mean something different for everyone, but for me, ‘Trembling Hands’ is about new love and new intimacy,” he tells us.
In its quirky accompanying video, directed by Truls, two luxuriously masked companions find each other in a lonely world. Stream “Trembling Hands” here and check out the video below.
