Daveed Diggs, William Hutson, and Jonathan Snipes, who make music as clipping., have shared an expanded version of their 2016 EP Wriggle. The original is home to a couple of the trio’s most popular tracks, including the title track—which samples Whitehouse’ “Wriggle Like a Fucking Eel”—and “Shooter,” which used fifteen different guns that clipping. fired, recorded, and molded into the track’s drumbeat.
Unfortunately the six tracks from Wriggle weren’t ready in time for the group’s debut for Sub Pop in 2014, CLPPNG. But now they’re getting a new life. The new version of Wriggle features all the original tracks—although “Back Up” features a new verse from Debby Friday—in addition to four new remixes from Homemade Weapons, Dave Quam, Jana Rush, and Cardopusher. Also, Wriggle (Expanded) will be released on July 9 on vinyl and select orders will receive an exclusive “Loser” edition with turquoise and black swirled vinyl.
