Last year, up-and-coming singer Ambar Lucid—who makes lush, psychedelic pop music with a soulful twist—released her debut album Garden of Lucid. Today, we get news of a new single, video, forthcoming EP, and label signing—Lucid will be releasing the Get Lost in the Music EP via 300 Entertainment on June 18. She’s shared the title track with a magical accompanying music video.

In a live stream before the video premiere, Lucid stated that this song is the beginning of a new era for her, and that the new song is inspired by some shroom trips she journeyed on last year. She shared that those experiences “inspired me to be the best version of myself and to be myself confidently and loudly and not be so ashamed of who I am and what I want to share and express with this world.” She explained that the video itself was inspired by the film The Holy Mountain and tarot cards.

It’s no surprise that the track was inspired by mushrooms, as she sings during the pre-chorus: “Magic mushrooms dance in my soul / Making it clear which way I must go.” Over muted horns and a ’60s-psych organ, Lucid’s vocals are robust and entrancing. “Get Lost in the Music” is a shimmering ode to psilocybin that would be a perfect fit for Daptone Records.
