SOUND/STAGE, the online concert and conversation series from the LA Phil, has entered its second season, with the lineups for episodes 6-8 unveiled. This Friday’s episode will feature Weezer performing songs from their recent LP OK Human with the Phil and YOLA (the Youth Orchestra of Los Angeles, not that Yola) at Walt Disney Concert Hall, as well as a conversation between Rivers Cuomo and Assistant Concertmaster Akiko Tarumoto, which will be hosted by KCRW’s Novena Carmel.
Later in the month, we’ll get performances and conversations from Common in collaboration with Gustavo Dudamel and the Phil on June 18, followed by a June 25 episode in which Colombian singer-songwriter Carlos Vives will take the stage and the hot seat. Vives will be also be returning to the Hollywood Bowl this summer for two nights on August 27 and 28, while Common will be joining D-Nice for Club Quarantine Live at the Bowl on August 29.
