Chicago rapper-singer Serena Isioma released their breakout EP Sensitive early last year, which was then followed by The Leo Sun Sets EP several months later. From themes of love’s unavoidable pull to police brutality, both featured Isioma’s poignant lyricism. Now there’s talk of their debut album, and although there isn’t much more information about it, Isioma has shared the project’s lead single “Huh.” It’s fun as fuck.

There’s some zappy keyboards, referee whistles, and intergalactic bleeps. It’s a vibrant concoction of signature funk and disco sounds that make an encouraging backdrop for Isioma as they call out haters, posers, and chumps that won’t let the music move them. “And I will not stop with this gay shit / Haters mad ’cause I’m young, Black, and famous,” they proclaim.
