Coming off the success of their 2020 debut LP Sweet Mortality, Switzerland’s Annie Taylor recently unleashed a pair of emotionally charged singles as a follow-up: the buzzing rocker “The Fool” and the more introspective “Unspoken.” It’s the latter than the four-piece (none of their names are actually “Annie Taylor,” for the record) performed for their recent “Neighborhoods” set. Swapping the dense strums of the recording with a sparer acoustic guitar sound, perhaps it’s the performance’s setting that’s most unique.
“We shot the video in a bathhouse in Zurich,” vocalist Gini Jungi shares of the Rebecca Emmenegger–filmed set. “It’s a really cool location, not only because it’s exclusively accessible for women, but also because it’s in the heart of Zurich. In summer there are concerts there and you get a feeling like being on vacation. Right now, the band is really excited about going back on stage. We got a tour planned for the end of the year and we can’t wait to finally play our debut album in front of a crowd. Hope we can welcome you in one of Zurich’s old-fashioned bathhouses soon!”
