A month after releasing their debut single for Dangerbird Records, which offered a disco-y take on the type of electronic music that made the Drive soundtrack so memorable, the synthy duo Touchy have returned for another song which sees the pair venture fully into the realm of European disco. The new track not only recalls the bygone era of the genre’s first wave, but is actually a cover of Belgian artist Plastic Bertand’s “Tout Petit La Planète.”

As a cover that also embraces the ethereal nature of dream pop, it makes sense, then, that Patsy Gelb’s wispy vocals and Christian Blunda’s spacy production is matched by visuals of the duo floating through the clouds. “The original is a perfect collision of so many things dear to our hearts: cosmic disco, art punk, synth pop, outer space, and French vocals,” they share of the Plastic Bertrand track, which they covered for Dangerbird’s Microdose series. “We had to experience this song for ourselves.”
