New York–based musician Lust$ickPuppy makes chaotic-ass music that simultaneously makes me want to mosh and drop into the splits. Her music incorporates a variety of electronic music influences, from cybergoth to bounce, along with heavy metal and punk. For any fan of Death Grips or 100 gecs, Lust$ickPuppy is an artist to keep an eye on. Further proof of that is her latest single “BustDuster,” produced by Death Grips’ Andy Morin.
Following the 2020 Cosmic Brownie EP and the one-off “Thirst,” “BustDuster” is as raunchy and blissfully absurd as the title might suggest. “Fuck you make me crave you baby,” she commands followed by aggressive shouts: “Shut the fuck up!” The industrial percussion hits and pounding beat somehow stabilizing L$P’s deliriously delivered lines. “I’m fucking disgusting / But you fucking love it / But you love to fuck it, fuck it.” The rush of “BustDuster” is a fucking thrill, making it an easy decision to keep the under two-minute track on repeat.
