Yesterday Dvsn—the project of singer Daniel Daley and producer Nineteen85—shared on their Instagram a video of them in the studio with the late rapper Mac Miller and singer Ty Dolla $ign. Today, they’ve released that track they were working in the booth and it’s called “I Believed It.” And let’s just say it’s pretty brilliant.

Over a collage of lush old-school samples, the four skilled musicians come together for a sad summer banger. “I Believed It” captures a tumultuous love affair that was too good to last. “Bitch you lied to my face / And I believed it,” Ty Dolla $ign sings. “Going through my phone / It’s getting old / Asking about who that is and how I even know them,” Daley adds during his verse. Both singers showcase their velvety croons and an aching rasp. Miller’s verse closes out the track, and is equally crushing. “Otherwise, it’s see you later right this way / It’s why I’m not the type to stay no more.”
