With every passing day, our unwillingness to take action against the growing disaster that is climate change only leads us closer to an unmoored end. On that note, there are people and organizations that are making climate change their primary focus, including the folks behind the immersive art and music event Undercurrent. The project has partnered with musicians and artists—including Bon Iver, Jorja Smith, Khruangbin, Actress, Aluna, Mount Kimbie, Jayda G, and Nosaj Thing—to express their concerns and reactions to our dying planet.

Today, the event announced that Grimes and The 1975 will also be a part of the multimedia experience. Grimes shared why she’s onboard: “If we don’t protect the environment the future of consciousness will be artificial, not biological. Would mental health and wellness even be relevant in a world where emotions aren’t an evolutionary advantage?” Grimes shared in a statement.

Undercurrent will emphasize three non-profits involved in the fight against climate change—Kiss the Ground, Ocean Conservancy, and Global Forest Generation. Undercurrent will take place in NYC starting Thursday, September 9. Check out the trailer below and find tickets here.
