It’s been three years since Caroline Polachek dropped her gorgeous solo album Pang, and today the musician known for her celestial pop bangers has returned. Her new single is called “Bunny Is a Rider,” and somehow it magically makes bird chirps, operatic whistles, and the sound of a baby giggling seem like a natural fit in a dance song.

“Bunny Is a Rider” was produced with Danny L. Harle, and in a comment about the track, Polachek revealed that the song was meant to drop last summer. Rather, it seems the warm-weather soundtrack has been saved for when we’re ready to embrace each other at backyard shindigs, humid clubs, and crowded dive bars.

“’Bunny Is A Rider’ is a summer jam about being unavailable,” she shared of the track. “Bunny is slippery, impossible to get ahold of. Maybe it’s a fantasy, maybe it’s a bad attitude. But anyone can be bunny, at least for three minutes and 17 seconds. The song features a scorching bass performance from producer Danny L. Harle, plus his baby daughter’s first vocal cameo.”
