In early June, TOKiMONSTA shared her collaboration with soulful R&B duo VanJess. Today, she’s returned with a new single featuring another big collaborator in Channel Tres titled “Naked.” Built on a pumping bass and trotting guitars, “Naked” has a bit of a wild west vibe—it’s hot and sticky as a single titled “Naked” should be. TOKiMONSTA builds a vibrant, sometimes unexpected world for Tres’ immediately recognizable vocals, which have that desirably confident and cool swagger. During the chorus, as Tres proclaims about going hard and chasing dreams, synths and strings pop up in the background with a nearly sinister effect.
“Naked” comes with a trippy collaged video. There’s lots of skulls, some bananas, and nods to something hitting the bloodstream. It’s pretty captivating. Check it out below along with TOKiMONSTA’s upcoming tour dates.
