It’s only been a year since Purity Ring released their last album. Although 2020 seems to get further and further away every day in more than one sense, with time losing its meaning exponentially, last year’s Womb was the electronic duo’s first album in five years. It seems they won’t be leaving us in suspense for another half-decade—today, they’ve shared the new single “soshy” and revealed a new label called The Fellowship.

“soshy” is suspended by haunting, whirling vocals. At times the production seems to be moving backwards in momentum. Megan James’ vocals are pushed to the forefront in all their gossamer glory. Accompanied with the new single is an uncanny video directed Carson Davis Brown that includes artwork by James. In a statement, she cryptically shared: “A wraith to descend the summer stairs with…a visage under water and over the super 8. Featuring Doris in 1935.”
