Last week Touché Amoré‘s Jeremy Bolm was part of a great cover of the Pixies’ “Where Is My Mind” alongside members of PUP, Bloodbather, Vein.Fm, and God’s Hate/Twitching Tongues, along with sloth style wrestler Orange Cassidy (which took me down a rabbit hole of who the hell Orange Cassidy is and what the hell sloth style wrestling is). Today, Touché Amoré has returned with another take on a newer classic: The Strokes’ “Hard to Explain.” It’s also really brilliant.

In a tweet, the band wrote, “we’re no strangers to doing covers when the inspiration hits us. We each passed around ideas of songs that would be fun to cover. ‘Hard to Explain’ felt like a fun one to tackle.” Something about Bolm’s gravelly vocals yelling “Well, I am too young, and they are too old / The joke is on you, this place is a zoo,” hits so hard in the best way.

The cover is exclusively for Bandcamp Friday—which, reader, you should definitely support!—and if you love this cover, you should spend some cash on a download. Either way, listen to it below.
