Indecision might be one of the most irritating feelings—for both the one experiencing it and others affected by it. It’s a kind of mental paralysis that stimulates anxiety, sometimes to the point of unmanageable pressure. “Indecisive,” the latest single from French-Korean multi-hyphenate spill tab, captures that frustrating feeling with a drum ‘n’ bass track that has the energy of a shaken can of soda ready to burst.

Against the rush of speedy drums and a wonky guitar melody, spill tab details the obsessive, impulsive storm that whirls through her brain. “My eyes are melting off,” she sings smoothly during the chorus. Later, another boundary-breaking artist, Tommy Genesis, jumps on the portal-traversing track.

spill tab gives us some insight to how “Indecisive” came together. “My producer and I wanted to make something with dummy fast drums and we sort of just went from there. We had all the sections we wanted but were missing a verse and I just really wanted someone to rap over it and go hard and I also didn’t want it to be me. I think my team sent the song over to Tommy’s camp and she loved it and was down to hop on it, and I’ve been a phat fan of her stuff and her new song too, so it was a divine match made in heaven.”

“Indecisive” follows this year’s “Anybody Else” and “PISTOLWHIP.” The former is a yearning, dreamy pop track, while the latter is seductive grunge-pop where her vocals whirl and melt in between the grid of burst speakers. spill tab shows she’s not afraid to muddy her soulful vocals. She leaves us with a variety of blurring, smudgy dance tracks.
