Explosions in the Sky‘s return to soundtracking—their first film/TV project since 2014’s David Wingo collab Manglehorn—hits close to home. The native Texans’ compositions were used for PBS’ Big Bend: The Wild Frontier of Texas, which premiered earlier this year. Now, the group is sharing that experience as a standalone album called Big Bend (An Original Soundtrack for Public Television).

The first track they’re releasing from Big Bend is “Climbing Bear.” The group creates a curious, sprawling track with acoustic guitar plucks and tense string details. It’s delightful. Thankfully, there’s 19 more tracks from this thing!

You can listen to “Climbing Bear” below, and pre-order the album—out October 1 via Temporary Residence Limited—here.
