2015. Will Smith rapping on “Late Show with David Letterman”

On Wednesday night, Will Smith reminded America that he’s still one of the greatest celebrities alive by breaking into an excellent rendition of his 1997 mega-hit “Gettin’ Jiggy wit It” on Late Show with David Letterman. He also probably confused an entire generation of young whippersnappers who only know him as a huge movie star (or Willow and Jaden’s dad) by busting out that classic Big Willie Style flow.

Smith was on Letterman to promote his upcoming action-romance-caper-gambling-drama-comedy Focus, but it would be a miracle if anyone could actually remember what he talked to Dave about, after kindly gifting the world with an impromptu trip down super fly memory lane.

The only issue with the performance? The audience members did not get on their feet and do what Mr. Smith so kindly asked of them—they didn’t get jiggy, and their na-na-na’s were lackluster. Will Smith, you deserved better.
