Open Mike Eagle has had a wildly busy couple years. He released his acclaimed album Anime, Trauma and Divorce last year and launched the podcast network Stony Island Audio and the indie label AutoReverse Records. Though OME released the second season of his podcast What Had Happened Was, he hadn’t released any new music in 2021 until now. Today we get the single “Burner Account” that features Armand Hammer and is produced by Quelle Chris.

“Burner Account” finds the three rappers reigniting their collaborative chemistry; OME was featured on Hammer’s 2013 album Race Music for the track “New Museum” which samples the indie band Cults. The dismal, hard-hitting production fits nicely against OME and Hammer’s boastful verses.

“Some dirty soul music I made with the brilliant brothers I’m about to go on this tour with produced by the mad genius Quelle Chris,” OME said of the track. “This is from a new project I’m working on. I’m also writing on a TV show I can’t reveal the name of yet and taping new seasons of both of my podcasts so there’s a lot of cooking happening.”

Stream the track below, and check out tickets for their tour dates here.
