Watch Muzi Perform “Daylight” and “Sondela Forever” in Clarens, South Africa for “Neighborhoods”

The songwriter brings two songs to ancestral grounds outside of Bushman’s Cave.

This past Friday, South Africa’s Muzi unveiled a new collection of songs which brought his fascinating blend of traditions—namely his country’s often-overlooked house music scene and the Zulu traditions he was raised with—to new audiences with the help of Kaytranada, whose guest spot appears alongside many of Muzi’s most talented South African peers.

With the Afro-futurist sounds of INTERBLAKTIC still heavily on rotation for many of us, it was a couple of older tracks (2018’s “Daylight” and last year’s “Sondela Forever”) that Muzi chose to perform for his “Neighborhoods” set, filmed outside of Bushman’s Cave in Clarens, South Africa. As a first for himself and for our video series, the songwriter took to ancestral ground in lieu of a conventional venue. Check out the performance below.
